The Hampton Inn Birch Run consistently receives positive feedback for its friendly and helpful staff, comfortable rooms, and convenient location near Frankenmuth. While recent reviews highlight occasional cleanliness concerns and construction-related disruptions, the majority of guests appreciate the value and overall pleasant experience. Several guests specifically mentioned Matt and Tye at the front desk for their exceptional service.
We had a really nice stay at the Hampton Inn. The location was great, making it easy to get around the area, and the price for two connecting rooms was very reasonable, which was perfect for our family. The service was excellent. Matt at the front desk was incredibly kind and went above and beyond to help guests get into their rooms during the storm, which we really appreciated. Jen also left a personalized welcome card, which was such a thoughtful touch and made us feel very welcomed. The hot breakfast was a highlight with plenty of options, so everyone in our group was able to find something they liked before starting the day. Another perk were the hot showers with awesome water pressure. I really enjoyed the Zero collection (soap & lotion). A couple minor cons: we did notice a few strands of hair in our room, and the pool and gym were under construction during our stay. However, we were aware of the construction ahead of time, so it wasn’t a surprise. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay with great service, friendly staff & guests, a good location, and a solid breakfast, and we would definitely consider staying again. Hilton for the win!
Just want to say what a wonderful staff they have. Every time I have stayed there they have gone above any expectations that I have. Room has always been very clean and the breakfast area is a delight. When ever planning a trip to the Birch Run area this is the hotel I choose to stay at. Thank you to the whole staff for a wonderful and memorable visit.
I enjoyed my stay. The staff was very pleasant. The manager (Tye) was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Lastly, I had a great breakfast before I departed for home.
Not as expected ? The room I reserved was not available. The pool was not as pictured. Guest laundry was unavailable. No fitness center (which was advertised) We had to move in for 23 days. We chose this hotel because it was close to home. And because of all of the amenities that were advertised. Awful experience. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!
BED BUGS!!! Beyond irritated to even have to leave this review here. We have given them multiple chances to make it right. Called many times only to be told that the manager had left for the day every single time we call. And “it would be a full time job if they called everyone back” We stayed for my daughter’s gymnastics meet 2 weekends ago, everything was fine: we were upset that the hot tub was gone even though it is still advertised in photos though. But no big deal, kids had fun in the pool regardless. We have stayed at this hotel 4 times in the past so we knew it was a good stay. Until this time. Got home on Sunday and had bug bites- everywhere!!! Thankfully we did not bring any home, but beware of room 202!! They will not return our calls. And even told us our complaint was never written down. So they are continuing to rent this room out knowingly. Absolutely disgusting. Will never ever be back.
The staff was very helpful and friendly! Having stayed here over the years, the ongoing updates are noticeable and appreciated. Hopefully the updates continue through bathrooms and aged items. Breakfast was adequate, fresh and hot. Our room was in a corner and had windows facing in 2 directions. Have never seen that in a Hampton Inn!
Service was great all around. The continental breakfast was great except for the fresh fruit, it was ROUGH. They had something other than bitter dark roast coffer, so I appreciated that. The gym being closed, but not posted on their site ahead of time is the reason for the 4 stars in service. The room was VERY spacious and clean, but the main door wasnt lined up properly and stuck, so you had to REALLY yank on it to get it open. The bathroom door would NOT latch, so you shut it hoping no one else bumped it open.
We had 3 rooms for a 1 night stay. Aaron at the front desk was extremely kind, helpful and thoughtful. She definitely has a gift for customer service and making people feel valued!!!! She is the reason we would definitely come back. There was also a personal touch with a thank you now from hospitality telling us they hope we enjoy our stay!!
Booked a 2 night stay here for a weekend trip to Frankenmuth. Do not stay at this hotel! Overall cleanliness of the building is not a priority and we discovered a very large, mature BED BUG about 30 minutes into our stay. Thank goodness we discovered it before sleeping a full night in the bed. We promptly had to check out and find other accommodations last minute. I will say the front desk service was efficient and pleasant despite the shortcomings!
I'll start by saying the staff were great—always courteous and quick to say hello when passing by. The front desk attendant was consistently available to answer questions or provide pool towels. Just note that you need to return those towels to avoid a $50 fee. It would be more convenient if towels were available at the pool itself, but the front desk is right across from it, so it’s not too much of a hassle. The pool water isn’t heated, but the room it’s in is, which is helpful in the winter. The pool could use a bit of updating; the bottom definitely needs a fresh coat of paint, but otherwise it was fine, and the kid enjoyed it. The room was updated and looked good for the price range—maybe even a bit better than expected. The only issues were a hole in the wall where the door hits and some cracks near the air conditioner. Another minor downside is the lack of noise insulation; you can hear doors closing, and sounds from neighboring bathrooms or showers carry through. The free breakfast was great. They had cereal, make-your-own waffles, eggs, sausage, and some really good seasoned potatoes. There was also a juice machine with several options, plus bagels and a toaster. Overall, for the price and for being right off the freeway, it’s a pretty solid choice. And being only 10–15 minutes from Frankenmuth—where hotels are two to three times the price—it’s a good value.
